Ask Yourself These Questions And Get An Amazing Free Phone Or Bargain Contract.

By Richard Akin

In my previous post, I mentioned that some of us find it daunting and confusing when confronted with the various contracts / price plans and phones on offer.

Firstly I will touch on the phone selection aspect.

The best way to scale this hurdle is to first of all determine which phone you want, listing all the special features that you would like your ideal phone to have, be it battery life, music player, dual band, tri band or quad band, looks, accessories, image etc. Doing this will provide you with various options and selections of phones, which can then be narrowed down.

Once this has been established you should also ask yourself how much you are willing to pay for the phone, or whether you willing to pay for the phone or obtain a free phone, at times a obtaining a free phone depends on the price you will be paying for your monthly subscription.

One important aspect that should never be overlooked is the network's coverage. Before signing up for a contract or even when buying a pay as you go phone. Please make sure that you are able to find out whether there is coverage in your location, or even the locations in which you intend on using the phone. Ignoring this important aspect could leave you with a phone with which you are unable to make calls from or even receive call with. This may also mean that you may still be charged the full line rental for the duration of the contract. So never over look this simple are because you have fallen in love with a particular phone. Do your research and avoid getting stung.

Now, if you are considering signing up for a contract, you should also ask yourself the following questions.

* The maximum that you are willing to pay for a contract.

* The number of free minutes / text or both that the contract offers.

* Will you be using the phone during peak hours or off peak hours or a mixture of both.

* Will you be calling other mobile phone networks.

* How many text or minutes you feel will be sufficient for your needs. (if you have had a phone or are upgrading you could look at your average monthly spend and this will provide you with a rough idea of how many free minutes or text will be adequate.

* Is it for business or personal use.

*How long the contract is for.

*whether you will be taking the phone abroad often / making international calls.

What use is a mobile phone when you can't even use it in your own home?

Those are some of the most important areas that need to be looked into when selecting a contract / upgrading. Adhering to this list could get you a bargain price plan, and save you money as well.

Some of us at times feel pressurised when we go into a shop when the sales person tries to force us into buying a phone, but when you know what you want it will be more difficult to be pressured into buying what you do not want. So always go prepared with knowledge of what mobile phone you are after.
